YEREVAN. - Ambassador of Egypt Tarek Ibrahim Muhammad Maati today extended copies of his credentials to the Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian.

Congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, the FM expressed hope that he will contribute to the enhancement of friendly relations between the two countries.

For his part, the Ambassador noted that Egypt attaches great importance to the deepening of relations with Armenia.

The sides discussed issues related to bilateral relations. The importance of holding the Armenian-Egyptian Intergovernmental Commission session in Yerevan next year was also underscored. The interlocutors also noted the important role of the Armenian community of Egypt. Apart from this, the Ambassador and the FM exchanged opinions on a number of international and regional issues.
