YEREVAN. – After the amendments to the Constitution, Armenia is entering a new phase of large-scale reforms.
President Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday noted the aforesaid during his talk with Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia.
The Press Office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that issues on the Armenia-EU agenda were discussed at the meeting.
Sargsyan stressed yet again that Armenia’s cooperation and development of relations with EU continues to remain a priority of the country’s foreign policy.
In addition, the President thanked the EU for its assistance to the ongoing reforms in Armenia, and expressed the hope that this assistance will continue.
Ambassador Świtalski, for his part, expressed the hope that the year 2016 will bring a new quality to Armenia-EU bilateral relations, and that the talks regarding a new Armenia-EU comprehensive legal document will conclude by the year’s end.
Also, the diplomat reaffirmed the EU’s interest in assisting Armenia in the development of cooperation and implementation of reforms.
