Armenia stands ready to continue the political discourse with the European partners.
National Assembly (NA) of Armenia Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, who also heads the NA Armenia-Lithuania parliamentary friendship group and is on a working visit to Lithuania, on Thursday stated the aforesaid at his meeting with Deputy Speaker Gediminas Kirkilas of the Lithuanian Seimas (Parliament), and Chairman Benediktas Juodka of the Seimas Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The interlocutors exchanged views on cooperation between the parliaments of two countries, and they underscored mutual visits.
The NA deputy speaker expressed gratitude to his Lithuanian counterpart for the latter’s assistance in holding an Armenian Genocide Centennial exhibition at the Museum of Genocide Victims, in the Lithuanian capital city of Vilnius.
“Lithuania was the first to recognize the independence of the Republic of Armenia,” Sharmazanov said. “And it is the only one in the Baltic countries to condemn the Armenian Genocide.”
At the talk, vice president of the Armenian parliament also thanked Juodka for attending the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations that were held in 2015 in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.
Also, the parties reflected on Armenia-European Union relations.
