The year that passed was marked by the sharp decline in national currencies, against the US dollar, in several Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) member countries.
The respective record holders were Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, where the American national currency gained twice the value.
To note, however, in some other CIS countries—in Russia, for example—the national currency’s considerable devaluation against the dollar started years ago.
Armenia takes the honorable second place among the CIS countries that have the most stable national currencies.
And the most stable national currency in the CIS is the Turkmenistan manat, whose exchange rate was virtually unchanged in 2015.
