The U.S. will hinder the creation by ISIS (DAESH) of its own state to the south of the Turkish-Syrian border and contribute to instituting control over that territory by Sunni Arabs, who are among the Syrian opposition. The U.S. Vice President Joe Biden stated the aforementioned at the joint press-conference with the Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu in Istanbul.

According to Biden, the U.S. will continue helping Turkey in the struggle against the ISIS and will continue its support after the defeat of ISIS, TASS reports.

He also noted that Ankara and Washington have enhanced their cooperation, including in the sphere of intelligence gathering and strengthening of operations against terrorists.  Moreover, Biden noted that measures have been taken to hinder the ISIS advancement from Syria to the Turkish borders.
