The U.S. militaries have launched the construction of a military base in the territory of Syria. The sources of Times newspaper assure that this is happening not far from the region, where the Russian militaries have become active.
Not far from the Syrian-Turkish border, several dozens of U.S. militaries have started reconstructing an airdrome, which will serve the needs of the agricultural aviation in times of peace, the newspaper writes, citing the Syrian Kurdish activists. A command center and platform for military helicopters have appeared on the airdrome airfield.
The official spokesman of the U.S. group in Baghdad, Colonel Steve Warren, refused to explain what the militaries are dealing with. According to him, a small number of special military detachments is in Syria and their task is confidential.
According to the newspaper sources, the activity of the Russian militaries was observed 50 km to the west, in Qamishli district, RBC reports.
