YEREVAN. – National Assembly (NA) President Galust Sahakyan on Wednesday had a farewell meeting with Georgian Ambassador Tengiz Sharmanashvili, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
The NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that the parliament speaker effectively assessed the ambassador’s work in Armenia, and noted that the solution of the debated problems promoted the progress of Armenian-Georgian cooperation. Sahakyan expressed the hope that the cooperation between the two states and the relations between the parliaments of the friendship countries will further intensify.
Ambassador Sharmanashvili, for his part, highlighted the cooperation between the parliaments of the two friendship countries, and noted that, during his tenure, he attached great importance to the restoration, development, and progress of this cooperation.
In addition, the Georgian diplomat expressed his gratitude to the chairman of the Armenian parliament and to the MPs for their support shown during his activities, and stated that despite leaving Armenia, he will remain a loyal friend of the Armenian people.
Galust Sahakyan, in turn, wished Tengiz Sharmanashvili new successes in his future work activities.
