Javanshir Akhundov has been appointed Azerbaijani Ambassador to Latvia.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a corresponding order on this, Azertac reports.

Pursuant to another order, Javanshir Akhundov has been relieved of his duties as Azerbaijani Ambassador to Iran and Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representative to the Economic Cooperation Organization.

Earlier, haqqin.az wrote that the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau of Latvia is investigating the criminal case into the wife of Ambassador Zeynalov, Nazira Zeynalova, who tried to give a 500 euro bribe to the inspectors to get a driving license.

Following this scandal, Elman Zeynalov was recalled from this post.
