Chairman of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) National Assembly, Ashot Ghoulyan, on Wednesday sent thank you letters to speaker David Ralston of the House of Representatives of the US State of Georgia, and House members Pat Gardner and Demetrius Douglas, who had presented resolution H.R. 1580 entitled “Honoring and Recognizing the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic,” for their determined efforts toward the recent adoption of this resolution at Georgia House of Representatives.

“The independence and sovereignty of Artsakh are now an irreversible reality, and they are based on democratic values,” the letters specifically read. “Democracy is also the cornerstone of the security of the people of Artsakh. It is very important to us that our colleagues of the parliament of the [US] State of Georgia have highly valued the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’s determination to craft a democratic state, and the successes it has had on this road.”
