We learned from Azerbaijani press that a “historic meeting” was held in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. 

Accordingly, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiyev had a warm and meaningful talk with “Vice-President of Indonesia Mohammad Hatta.” 

This regular bilateral meeting would not have grabbed our attention in itself, if there had not been an astonishing factor. Mohammad Hatta, who was Indonesia’s first vice president and later also served as the country’s prime minister, had left the office of the vice president in 1955, and passed away in 1980.

And now, the reporter from News.Az news agency of Azerbaijan said on Hatta’s behalf that Indonesia supports “Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity” and hails this country’s “rapid development.”
