YEREVAN. - The solemn award-giving ceremony to the winners of the International Children's Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2015 took place in Yerevan’s Komitas Museum-Institute today.

Last year marked the 43rd anniversary of the exhibition. 21,380 children from 71 countries took part in the exhibition on the topic “International Year of Light.” The topic of their work was “Light.”

205 children from Armenia also took part in the exhibition. The international jury selected eight young Armenian artists as honorary prizewinners. Armenia’s Dilijan Fine Arts School for children was for its part awarded the special “Rose” medal.

The Czech Republic Ambassador to Armenia, Peter Mikiska, and Komitas Museum-Institute director Nikolay Kostandyan handed awards and certificates to the prizewinners. The awards were bestowed upon Kristine Hovsepyan, Ella Galashyan, Lilit Barseghyan, brother and sister Eduard and Anna Hovhannisyan, Artur Davtyan, Meline Badalyan and the youngest winner, Astghik Hakobyan, 7.

“Children from Armenia always successfully take part in the competition every year and get prizes,” Ambassador Mikiska stressed.
