YEREVAN. - Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan today received the delegation led by Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Sergei Naryshkin, who is also Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO PA) Council.

Welcoming the guest, the PM noted that Sergei Naryshkin’s visit and participation in the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council held in Yerevan will serve as a new impetus for the further development and deepening of Armenian-Russian strategic and friendly relations and inter-parliamentary ties, contributing to the enhancement of collaboration between the parliaments of the two countries on international platforms. Abrahamyan also stressed that the Armenian-Russian cooperation both in political and economic spheres is of a dynamic nature.

For his part, Mr Naryshkin attached importance to the multi-lateral cooperation between Armenia and Russia in different areas.  He briefed the PM on the details of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council session, noting that important issues on fighting international terrorism and resisting possible challenges had been discussed.

Naryshkin also expressed conviction that the agreements reached at the session will contribute to the further insurance of security and settlement of issues in CSTO states.

Apart from this, Hovik Abrahamyan and Sergei Naryshkin discussed issues of mutual interest, including the Armenian-Russian relations and programs implemented in the framework of the EEU.  The sides expressed conviction that there is a great potential in the framework of the EEU and the member-states will be able to take advantage of it in the best way possible.

Besides, the interlocutors agreed that through joint efforts it will be possible to overcome the difficulties resulted from geopolitical reality and record economic success.
