A delegation from the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia met with head of the Korea-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group at the Republic of Korea (South Korea) NA, Noh Young-min.

First, head of the Armenian delegation, ruling Republican Party of Armenia MP Samvel Farmanyan, thanked Noh Young-min for his invitation to South Korea, and expressed the hope that Armenian-South Korean relations will continue to develop as a result of close cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries.

The Armenian NA delegation members underscored Noh’s efforts to raise the issue of the Armenian Genocide. Also, Farmanyan handed him the invitation to the “Against the Crime of Genocide” second global forum, which Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan will host in April.

In addition, Samvel Farmanyan noted that there is great interest in Armenia toward the Korean language and culture.

Also, the interlocutors reflected on the need to expand bilateral trade, economic, and cultural ties.

Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on the situation in the Korean Peninsula, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and several other key international issues.

Head of the Korea-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship Group, for his part, noted that the right of peoples to self-determination should be at the basis of the resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
