YEREVAN. – Vice President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Eduard Sharmazanov, on Wednesday received Polish Ambassador Jerzy Marek Nowakowski.

Sharmazanov noted that Armenian-Polish relations develop in a natural way and there is still potential for making them grow deeper. Also, the NA Vice President highlighted the balanced position of Poland regarding the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the Polish parliament’s adoption of a decision in 2005, regarding the recognition of the Armenian Genocide.

In addition, Eduard Sharmazanov informed the Polish diplomat that an Armenian NA delegation will take part in the events dedicated to the 1050th anniversary of Poland’s adoption of Christianity, and which are slated for April.

Ambassador Nowakowski, for his part, noted that Armenian-Polish relations can develop in all directions. Also, the ambassador underscored the presence of the Polish Armenian community, of 650-year history, in the progress and the development of civilization in Poland. In this context, he informed that this fact is planned to be celebrated next year in Poland.
