YEREVAN. - Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian today received Ambassador Argo Avakov, the newly appointed Head of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office in Yerevan, on handing over letter of credentials.
Congratulating Ambassador Avakov on the appointment, FM Nalbandian wished success in the implementation of his mission, stressing that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would continue to provide full support to the activities of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, the Armenian MFA press-service reports.
For his part, the newly appointed Head of the OSCE Office assured that he would exert every effort to maintain and facilitate the efficiency of the current projects implemented in Armenia, as well as to enhance the cooperation established with the Armenian authorities and its civil society.
The sides commended that the OSCE-Armenia relations have always been notable for their multi-dimensionality, including the active involvement of Armenia in all three directions of the OSCE activities. FM Nalbandian underscored the importance of the activity of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, noting that the Office is the only OSCE mission in the region that works in full capacity.
Edward Nalbandian and Argo Avakov also discussed the process of reforms in Armenia, as well as the projects implemented with the OSCE support.
