The large brawls, which have occurred in recent days in the Turkish parliament and between the MPs of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the pro-Kurdish “Peoples’ Democratic Party” (HDP), have forced the Kurdish politicians of Turkey to state that they will nominate boxers and karateka as MP candidates in the next elections.
In this context, activist, HDP Executive Board Armenian member Murat Mıhçı proposed—via social networking websites—to nominate Armenian athlete Arthur Abraham (Germany), who is the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Middleweight former titleholder, as an HDP MP candidate in the next parliamentary election in Turkey.
Although this was a joke, the Kurdish politicians did approve the nomination of a “strong” MP candidate.
