After the German Bundestag’s adoption of the resolution recognizing the Armenian Genocide, security has been beefed up at the German consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
The Turkish security forces have dispatched additional forces and equipment to the consulate, according to Sözcü daily newspaper of Turkey.
It is noted that the enhanced security is due to the possible protests outside the consulate building.
The Bundestag, the lower house of the German parliament, on Thursday formally recognized the Armenian Genocide.
