The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will set up a consolidated peacekeeping police contingent, said CSTO Deputy Secretary General Valery Semerikov, reported RIA Novosti news agency of Russia. 

“It is believed that it will participate in the very UN missions,” added Semerikov.

In the CSTO official’s words, the peacekeeping forces of this organization consists of 3,500 people, including a 800-member police contingent.

“We are confident that our peacekeeping forces are ready to perform peacekeeping missions in the territory of the CSTO member countries [i.e. including Armenia],” stated Valery Semerikov. “And most importantly, they are ready to work beyond the borders of the CSTO responsibility zone, with the UN mandate.”
