YEREVAN. – The session of Security Council Secretaries’ Committee of states in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) is in progress Wednesday in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.
In his opening remarks at the extended meeting of the event, Armen Gevorgyan, newly appointed Secretary of the National Security Council (NSC) of Armenia, noted that this session is taking place during a complicated time for the country.
In particular, he reflected on the aggression which Azerbaijan had unleashed against the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) in early April, and stressed that Armenia, as a guarantor of NKR, cannot remain apathetic toward this aggression.
“All these events were taking place in the CSTO Caucasus region,” said the Armenian NSC chief. “For that reason, we believe that the events concern our partners in the CSTO.”
