German Chancellor Angela Merkel is ready to make concessions  and to provide a visa-free regime for Turkey, in spite of the refusal of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdrogana to satisfy all conditions of the EU, The Telegraph reported quoting diplomatic messages of the British Ambassador to Berlin, Sebastian Wood.

The reports say that the administration of the German chancellor is ready to make a compromise in the wording of the anti-terrorist legislation. Its tightening is one of the conditions for lifting the visa regime for Turkey.

“Despite the tough public line, there are straws in the wind to suggest that in extremis the Germans would compromise further to preserve the EU-Turkey deal”, the message of the diplomat says.

The diplomat emphasized that Germany finds it possible to constrain Turkey until October. At the same time diplomatic messages from the British ambassador to Turkey Richard Moore are more pessimistic.

According to him, if the visa regime for Turkey isn't simplified, then impatient and quick-tempered Erdogan can “open gate” for migrants to Europe.

The British Foreign Office told the newspaper that the purpose of the diplomatic messages from embassies is a feedback on the views of foreign governments, it is not an official statement of the British government.
