President Vladimir Putin pardoned citizens of Ukraine Gennady Afanasyev and Yury Soloshenko who had been convicted in Russia, the Kremlin website  reported.

The statement says that the president issued a decree pardoning Gennady Afanasyev convicted on December 17, 2014 by the Moscow city court, exempting him from further serving sentence in the form of imprisonment. Another decree of the head of the state pardoned Yuri Soloshenko convicted on October 14, 2015 by  the Moscow City Court, exempting him from further punishment in the form of imprisonment.
