The European seniors concluded that a possible exit of Great Britain for the EU after the forthcoming referendum can only be beneficial to the EU, writes The Telegraph with a reference to high-ranking diplomats. According to them the EU leaders are ready to put up with the prospect of Brexit and do not intend to further make concessions. Moreover, they believe that the EU can become even stronger, if the most obstinate member, who has an active role in key issues, decides to leave.

“For Europe, British membership of the EU is really a 50-50 advantage-disadvantage question,” the newspaper quotes one of the seniors. According to him, London should not overestimate its significance for Europe. The EU hopes that Britain will keep its membership. However, the EU is ready for the future, it may actually be the opposite. The life will go no in case of the Brexit.  The EU can accept new members and deepen cooperation in the fields of defense and foreign exchange, he concluded. 

The periodical also reports that the European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker, every day negotiates with the leaders of the EU countries to discuss the possible consequences of Brexit .
