YEREVAN. – India’s new Ambassador to Armenia, Yogeshwar Sangwan, on Friday presented his credentials to President Serzh Sargsyan.

The Presidential Press Office informed Armenian News-NEWS.am that, congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, the President expressed the hope that the Indian diplomat will do his utmost to strengthen friendship and develop cooperation between the two countries and peoples.

Sargsyan stressed that Armenian-Indian relations have developed under the conditions of mutual trust and understanding, which has also been manifested by their virtually identical outlook on regional and international matters. 

The interlocutors shared the view that there is a great potential in all domains. Serzh Sargsyan expressed the hope that Armenia and India will begin to reveal and fully implement this potential, in the coming years. 

The Armenian President and the Indian ambassador considered the deepening of cooperation in several domains of mutual interest to be promising, and they underscored the need to expand the legal framework between the two countries.

Ambassador Sangwan, for his part, assured that he will do everything possible, during his diplomatic mission in Armenia, to contribute to the development and deepening of Armenian-Indian relations.
