The first results of the exit poll show that for the first time a woman was elected as a mayor of Rome, 37 -year-old Virginia Raj, a member of 5 stars movement, reports RIA Novosti.  On Sunday there was launched the second round of the elections in Rome.

The results of a public opinion poll reported on the Italian public television show that Raj has collected  64-68 % of the votes,  and she is leading the competition for the post of the mayor of Rome. The final data will be published later by the Italian Interior Ministry. Many observers consider that she is an outright winner, though. On June 5, Raj received 35 percent of the votes during the first round of elections.
