The excessive heat which set in on Thursday in Japan led to hospitalization of 490 people with suspicion on a heatstroke, three of them died, Japanese news agency Kyodo reported.

As NHK TV channel noted, air temperature rose to 38.8 degrees in Yamanashi Prefecture, 37.7 degrees was in Tokyo.

Earlier it was reported that from June 27 to July 3 2847 people were taken to the hospital, by ambulance that is three times higher number  than a week before. Six of them died.

After several days of a respite, the heat hit Japan again and is expected to continue with temperatures above 30 degrees, RIA Novosti reported.
