Turkish Ambassador to Berlin Huseyin Avni Karslioglu is recalled to Ankara for consultations, TASS reported quoting Sozcu Gazetesi newspaper.

This decision of the Foreign Ministry comes after an incident in the city of Cologne during the Sunday rally in support of Turkish leader Tayyip Erdogan after the recent coup attempt. Nearly 40,000 people, mainly Germans of the Turkish origin, took part in the demonstration.

During the rally, the organizers planned a live broadcast with the address from President Erdogan and directed such requests to the authorities of Germany. However, the German Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) banned activists from organizing such a broadcast a day before the demonstration.

Turkish Foreign Ministry has not commented on the information about recalling of the ambassador yet.
