Today, August 2, the Charge d'Affaires of the EU Delegation to Armenia Andrea Khalupova together with the head of the US Embassy 's political and economic division Matthew Yusen met with the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Arman Tatoyan .

As the EU Delegation Facebook page informs the interlocutors discussed the developments of the last days, condemning the use of force and stressing that any conflict should be solved peacefully. They exchanged views on inciting hatred, abuses of human rights, freedom of assembly, and freedom of expression. The parties raised an issue of excessive use of force by the police and mass arrests, including the necessity of an effective and transparent investigation of all the violations. The Ombudsman presented the results of his and his staff members’ monitoring and visits of the detainees. 

He said that his office has submitted documents to the Prosecutor General on the potential violation.
