Czech President Milos Zeman has rejected the government's proposal to shelter almost 2,700 refugees. President opposed to any accommodation of refugees on the Czech territory, president’s representative Jiri Ovcacek said.

 “Our country cannot afford exposing itself to danger, as France and Germany,” he added.

 According to him, accommodation of migrants could pose risk of terrorist attacks in the Czech Republic, DW reported.

Under the government proposal, the Czech Republic until 2017 would host 2,691 refugees who are on the territory of Italy and Greece now. This could happen regardless of the distribution of refugees in all EU member states. However, the Czech Republic, along with other countries such as Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, does not agree with quotas for migrants.
