YEREVAN. – New armed groups may emerge in Armenia unless we achieve solutions and hold early election, leader of Heritage party Raffi Hovannisian said.

Every Armenian citizen can be a member of “Sasna Tsrer” group, he said, adding that it is not a threat.

“But they would be anti-terrorists who are fighting against the terrorists in ties that captured our country. If we do not make changes in the current situation, let no one be surprised at seeing losses on the border.  And, this time it will not be limited to Talish village and hundred families who lost their sons. We have little time, and a lot is due to social behavior, a conversation between government and society is needed to lead to a new Armenia,” Hovannisian said, adding that in August, members of the party would be seen on different platforms and in different cities throughout Armenia.

On 17 July an armed group seized Armenian police regiment. Its members have laid down their arms and surrendered to the authorities on 31 July.
