YEREVAN. - The rally in support of Sansa Tsrer group is continuing in Yerevan’s Liberty Square.

One of the protestors came to the stage and announced that as a result of the police actions his small son is horrified to live in his own country, Armenian News - NEWS.am correspondent reports.  He also urged two policemen passing by the square to come up and take his child’s hand. The policemen went away without responding, which sparked the protestors’ dissatisfaction.

In a few minutes, member of Armenia’s Founding Parliament radical opposition group Harutyun Aghlamazyan, who is conducting the rally, announced that a policeman wants to take the child’s hand and deliver a speech.

While he was speaking, the police lieutenant approached, embraced the boy and delivered a speech: “I want you to see that the police defend people, the nation. I want you to yourself make sure that the police are not an institution that beats and breaks [people],” he said, winning the protestors’ applauses.

“Thank you, but we expect the police to show this by deeds,” Aghlamazyan said.

He also noted that they will march to Yerevan’s Abovyan street, Republic Square, Amiryan street, Mashtots Avenue and then move to the Presidential palace.
