The UN strongly condemned the launch of ballistic missiles by North Korea. According to the massages, one of the missiles fell into exclusive economic zone of Japan. Such actions severely undermine regional peace and stability, UN Secretary General's press secretary Stephen Dyuzharrik stated at the briefing in New York.

Ha added that they again urge the North Korean authorities to listen to the unanimous demand of the international community to change course and to resume dialogue.

In the last resolution on North Korea 2270 adopted on March 2, 2016 UN Security Council tightened and expanded sanctions against Pyongyang in response to its nuclear missile tests in January - February of this year. Members of the Council banned export of coal, iron ore, gold, titanium, vanadium and other valuable metals from North Korea , as well as the supply of aviation fuel to the country. The resolution extends the sphere of coverage of weapon embargo and imposes a ban on opening of offices of banks of North Korea abroad.
