Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu called Austria the “capital of radical racism” in response to the statement made by Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern suggesting to suspend EU accession talks with Turkey.

In an interview with TGRT Haber, Cavusoglu described Kern’s remark as “ugly”, Reuters reported.

The official response from Vienna was received from Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz who urged Ankara to follow its words and actions. His spokesperson said Kurz categorically dismissed Turkey’s criticism and urged to be attentive in a choice of words and actions in their country.
