YEREVAN. - “Barev Yerevan” faction of Yerevan City Council has sent a letter to the Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan on Friday, asking his support in changing the preventive measure chosen against council members Armen Martirosyan and Davit Sanasaryan.

As reported earlier, Barev Yerevan faction members Armen Martirosyan and Davit Sanasaryan were arrested for two months, this hindering the faction activity.  Considering the small staff of the faction, the presence and participation of each of them is very valuable.

Based on the substantiations of their attorneys, Barev Yerevan expresses assurance that Armen Martirosyan and Davit Sanasaryan are prosecuted for their political views, which is anti-constitutional. They are the people chosen by Yerevan citizens, and their arrest hinders the fulfillment of their duties, which is an unacceptable phenomenon for a country which has declared itself democratic.
