Kazakhstan and Turkey have agreed to jointly fight terrorism, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said after the meeting with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip  Erdoğan.

According to the statement on the Kazakhstan President’s website, Nazarbayev underscored the importance of joint efforts in issues of ensuring international stability. He thanked Turkey for supporting the republic’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2017-2018.

“Against the backdrop of global challenges and threats, Kazakhstan and Turkey are ready to unite efforts to ensure the global security and stability. In this connection, we agreed to univocally rebuff terrorism - the key disease of the 21st century. The cooperation of our countries in the military and technical areas is developing consistently,” Nazarbayev said, RIA Novosti reports.

Kazakhtan President is on an official visit to Turkey.
