YEREVAN. - If allowed, Armenian composer Tigran Mansuryan is ready to meet with Sasna Tsrer group member and artist Ashot Petrosyan even today. The latter has gone on hunger strike since Thursday. 

Ashot Petrosyan’s attorney Arayik Papikyan, who met with the composer and personally talked to him on Saturday, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to Papikyan, they are now waiting for the body carrying out the proceeding to permit Ashot Petrosyan’s meeting with composers Robert Amirkhanyan and Tigran Mansuryan.

“Tigran Mansuryan said that he is ready to meet him even now if Ashot Petrosyan ends his hunger strike and agrees to receive medical assistance after that meeting,” Papikyan said.

Petrosyan’s condition is satisfying now, but he needs food and medical assistance, the attorney noted.

“Ashot continues his hunger strike. He has three gunshot injuries, but he refuses receiving medical assistance, which is very bad in his condition. The sooner that meeting takes place, the sooner will Ashot Petrosyan receive medical assistance and food,” the attorney noted.

As reported earlier, composer Robert Amirkhanyan has also agreed to meet with Ashot Petrosyan.

Petrosyan faces charges under Article 235.3 ( Illegal procurement, transportation or carrying of weapons, ammunition, explosives or explosive device) and 219.3 (1) (Occupation of buildings, facilities, means of transportation or communication) of the Armenian Criminal Code. He is arrested now.
