A record number of 14 patrol ships entered the disputed area of the South China Sea, Diaoyu Islands,  which Japan claims as its own belt of waters , reports the TASS, citing Japan's coastal service.

According to that information, some ships are equipped with weapons . On August 7, 13 similar Chinese ships had already entered the zone . Last weekend, the Government of Japan sent a note of protest to China in that regard.  On Saturday , about 230 Chinese fishing boats and 6 ships were  seen in that area . Beijing in its turn has urged Tokyo to refrain from taking measures leading to an aggravation of the situation .
