Germany does not consider that improvement of relations between Turkey and Russia will impact on Ankara's role in NATO, announced the German Foreign Ministry representative Sawsan Chebli, reports the Reuters.

According to her , the restoration of relations between Ankara and Moscow is important from the viewpoint of the situation in the region as well as of the end to the civil war in Syria. “We do not believe that the rapprochement between Turkey and Russia will have consequences for the security partnership within NATO," said Chebli. "Turkey is and remains an important partner within NATO."
