The American Wal-Mart Stores Inc plans to purchase Jet.com for $ 3 billion, which will enable the network to compete with Amazon and other trading platforms, reports the Reuters.
According to the Rosbalt, Jet.com was launched last July by Marc Lore . Initially, the platform aimed to offer huge discounts and low prices for certain goods. The main attention was paid to the number of goods the buyer added to his/her basket. However, 3 months later Jet.com changed its strategy and canceled the subscription model .
“We’re looking for ways to lower prices, broaden our assortment and offer the simplest, easiest shopping experience because that’s what our customers want,” said the director of Wal-Mart Doug Mcmillon.
