The Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) is concerned that after the attempts of the coup in Turkey, the events will have a negative impact on the German exports to Turkey , reports the DW.

The head of the Chamber of Commerce Volker Trayer said that the DIHK hoped to increase this year’s export volume to Turkey by 5-10 percent. In 2015 Germany provided Turkey goods and services at the amount of  22.4 billion euros. However, now they hope to maintain the existing export volumes in 2016 at best. According to him, at the risk of terrorist attacks and political instability in Turkey the German businessmen have frozen some of their projects, and a number of firms expect that the German capital will be taken out of the Turkish market.

Turkey is the largest purchasers of cars and spare parts of Germany, whereas the Turkish market is of a high demand for the German machinery, chemical and textile products .
