YEREVAN. - The condition of the 45-year-old police officer Gagik Mkrtchyan, who sustained serious injuries during the clashes between the law enforcement officers and members of the Sasna Tsrer armed group in the territory of the seized police station on July 17, is extremely critical. Consultation has been called to discuss issues related to his further treatment.

Spokesperson of the Armenian Health Ministry Anahit Haytayan told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

During this period Mkrtchyan has undergone four operations, but he hasn’t regained consciousness.

Gagik Mkrtchyan sustained sterno-abdominal gunshot wound on July 17. He was in the Heratsi Hospital Complex No. 1 for some time, but was later moved to Astghik Medical Center, since a need for haemodialysis rose.

In Haytayan’s words, seven people, wounded as a result of the events in Yerevan on July 17, continue their treatment in hospitals.
