Minister for Upper Secondary School and Adult Education and Training Aida Hadzialic announced her resignation after being caught driving under the influence of alcohol.

The minister drank two glasses of wine in the evening of August 11 before being stopped on the bridge linking Denmark and Sweden. The police detected a blood-alcohol level of 0.2 promille, BBC reported.

At a special press conference called on Saturday she said that she understood that that many are disappointed by her and she was angry with herself and deeply regrets the incident.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven commented on the resignation of the minister saying that the situation was really serious. He is very sorry to lose the valuable colleague and a successful minister.
