Afghan security forces killed 82 militants and wounded 64 within last 24 hours, Xinhua reported.

According to the data, during operation in districts of eastern Paktia province 36 Taliban militants were killed and 24 others wounded.

Some 14 militants were killed and 20 wounded in southern and northern provinces.

Also as a result of the operation 12 people were detained.  Seven Afghan army soldiers were killed during the operation.

Earlier the agency reported that 12 Taliban militants were killed as a result of the actions of Afghan Air Force in Nuristan province in the east of the country on Monday
