Russian FM Sergey Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had a phone conversation on Tuesday, during which they discussed the coordination of actions in the fight against terrorism in Syria, as well as the insurance of the regime of ceasing the military actions there, the Russian MFA website reports.

“The ministers discussed the developments in Syria with emphasis on Aleppo, where the government forces are carrying out a large-scale humanitarian operation with Russian support. They discussed in detail preparations for implementing the agreements reached during Mr Kerry’s visit to Moscow on July 15 on coordinating efforts to combat terrorist groups in Syria and to ensure the cessation of hostilities,” the statement reads.

The phone conversation took place at the initiative if the American side.
