YEREVAN. – A heated election is expected in Armenia’s Ashtarak town.
Eight candidates have been nominated to run in the Ashtarak mayoral voting to be held on September 18, informed the Central Electoral Commission website.
Seven of these candidates have no political party affiliation, and only one contender is a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
Local government elections are slated for September 18 in several towns and villages in the country.
