Ex-President of Singapore Sellapan Ramanathan (also known as S.R. Nathan), who was the longest-serving president in the country’s history (from 1999 to 2011) has died at a hospital in the republic, the government press-service reports.

By the end of June, S.R. Nathan, 92, was taken to a local hospital in a critical condition after apoplectic attack, TASS reports.

The ex-President, who was twice elected during general elections and was the sixth president in the history of Singapore, ran different offices in the intelligence services and MFAs prior to this, also serving as an Ambassador in Malaysia and U.S.
