Moscow and Tokyo will continue negotiations on reaching a peace deal, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said following the results of the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, RNS reported.

Lavrov noted that two rounds of consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers were held, issues related to the instructions that President Putin and Prime Minister Abe gave in Sochi were discussed.

He added that they agreed that these consultations would continue and the results would be reported during the visit of the Russian leader to Japan before the end of this year.
