YEREVAN. – The President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, issued a letter of condolences to the people and leadership of Uzbekistan, on the occasion of the passing of President Islam Karimov of Uzbekistan.

Highlighting the role of the years-long leader of the country in the development of the state-building of modern Uzbekistan, President Sargsyan expressed confidence that tenacity and vital energy, which the people of Uzbekistan are well-known for, will enable them to overcome this profound loss and unite closer for the strengthening and prosperity of Uzbekistan, the Press Office of the President of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“I share the deep sorrow of the people of Uzbekistan, family and friends of Islam Karimov, and convey my words of condolences and support,” reads the letter of condolences of the President of Armenia.
