Turkey should abandon the intention to introduce the death penalty in the country. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belgium Didier Reynders told reporters on the second day of the informal meeting of Interior Ministers from the 28 EU Member States, TASS reported.

He said that on the one hand, they need a discussion about qualitative partnership. It should also be noted that if Turkey reintroduces death penalty, they would lose their way to Europe. The Belgian FM said they hope to hear from Ankara that the introduction of the death penalty is not necessary.
