The parliamentary elections in Georgia must be held in line with the principles of democracy.

The Secretary General of NATO Jens Stoltenberg said the aforementioned at the joint press-conference with the Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Tbilisi.

NATO is looking forward to the upcoming elections, which must be fair and honest, as well as in line with the high democratic standards, Stoltenberg said, Sputnik-Georgia reports.

The Georgian PM, who is also the leader of the ruling Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia Party, expressed conviction in the victory of his team in the elections.

The parliamentary elections in the country are slated for October 8.
