YEREVAN. – The First Deputy Defense Minister of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, on Thursday participated in the UN Peacekeeping Defence Ministerial meeting, which is held in London.

This event is a continuation of the UN Peacekeeping Summit, which was convened in New York in  September 2015, the Ministry of Defense of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The objective of the London meeting is to sum up the work that has been carried out within the framework of the commitments that were assumed during the aforesaid summit, and to record new commitments.

In the year past, Armenia had assumed a commitment to establish additional capacity—for the deployment in UN peacekeeping operations—a Level 2 field hospital as well as a military division that detects and neutralizes improvised explosive devices.
